Using Citation Keys

1. Click the gear symbol .
2. Click General settings.
3. Click Citation.
4. Enable Citation key support.
5. Select a citation key format.
6. Click Close.

Citation key formats

Citation keys play an important role in certain citation styles. In descriptions of the different citation styles, you can learn whether a particular style uses citation keys, and, if so, which one. Besides the universal citation key format keyword the following citation key formats also exist (for use with corresponding citation styles):

If you also use the desktop version of Citavi, Citavi will use the citation key settings you have defined there.
