Evaluating a Reference

You can write an evaluation for any reference in a project at any time. Evaluations help you remember the most important aspects of a work.

You can also print a list containing your evaluations to give to students as a recommended reading list. For example, you could provide a list of references with notes such as "good introduction to topic X," "seminal work," "recommended for advanced study on topic Y".

Writing an evaluation

  1. Switch to the desired reference in the Reference Editor.
  2. Select Content.
  3. Type your evaluation in the Evaluation box.

Assigning a rating

In addition to or instead of an evaluation, you can assign a star rating to a reference. You can decide for yourself what the rating should stand for.

  1. Switch to the desired reference in the Reference Editor.
  2. Select Content.
  3. Click the number of stars that you wish to assign to the reference.
