Account

You can access your Citavi account on our server by logging in with the e-mail address and password you provided when you registered for Citavi. If you own a Citavi license, your license information is saved in your account.

HTTPS

HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a communication protocol used to securely transfer data in the World Wide Web.

RSS Feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. An RSS feed is an XML file with with the .xml, .rss, or .rdf extension that users can to subscribe to over the internet. A provider continually updates the content, and the receiving program (RSS reader) provides an automatic read-out of the feed. You can mark items as read in the RSS reader in order to hide them, for example.

Server

A computer that provides data to other computers.

Token

A (software) token contains encrypted data that provides you with access to available services and content.

Port

A port is a point of entry for data packets that are being exchanged between computers.

Web API

A Web API is a programming interface that programs and websites use to exchange data. These data can include content (e.g. bibliographic information) or information about the rights that a user has to access other programs or content.

Web Service

A web service is a service that allows various software applications to communicate with each other independently of their individual programming languages.

ZIP file

A ZIP file is a file in a special type of file that contains multiple files or folders. ZIP files are used to reduce the size of the data they contain. Your operating system can unpack ("unzip") ZIP files.
