Citavi works just like any other program: you must have Windows administrator rights to install Citavi in the default folder C:\Program Files\Citavi 3. Please note that you will also need administrator rights to install updates.
By default, your user files are placed in the folder Documents\Citavi 3 or My Documents\Citavi 3.
