Adding Articles by DOI or PubMed ID
You can download bibliographic information for articles as easily as you can for books with ISBNs. The only requirement is that the article have a DOI name or PubMed ID. The only requirement is that the article have a DOI name or a PubMed ID .
- In the Reference Editor on the toolbar, click Retrieve by ISBN.
- Enter the DOI name in the Manual entry field, for example, 10.1016/j.nedt.2008.07.004 (you can leave out the "doi" prefix).
- Make sure you have an active Inernet connection, and click Add.
- Citavi downloads the bibliographic information from crossref.org.
- To add the bibliographic information to your project, click Add to project.

- Enter the PubMed ID in the Manual entry field, for example, 20439253 (you can leave out the "PMID" prefix).
- Make sure you have an active Inernet connection, and click Add.
- Citavi downloads the bibliographic information from PubMed.
- To add the bibliographic information to your project, click Add to project.

Hint: If you already have articles in PDF format, you can save time by importing the PDF files.
