Creating a New Citation Style
When you create a new style, Citavi saves it in the folder Documents\Citavi 4\Custom Citation Styles. You can send this style to other Citavi users as an attachment.
In the list of components (1) you can drag components to the rule set templates (2). For each reference type (3) you can set which components should appear in the bibliography, in-text citations, and footnotes. The preview (4) shows the results once the templates have been defined. |
Editing an Existing Style
- In the Reference Editor on the Citation menu, click Citation style > Edit citation style.
- Click Find and add style, to find a style that matches your requirements as closely as possible.
- Click Edit. If you are using a Citavi style, enter a name for the copy of the style and click OK. The style is saved in the folder Custom Citation Styles.
Hint: Select one of the Citation Style Templates if you don't know which style to use. In the Citation Style Templates the most common settings are already defined. You can search for the templates just like you would any other style.
