Conflict Management
Citavi Team lets multiple people work on a Citavi project at the same time. Under certain condtions, two users may be making changes to a reference at the same time. This is known as a conflict.
In such cases, Citavi solves conflicts by saving the changes of the user who saved changes last, as shown in the following example:
- User A add the ISBN to the reference for the book "Social Systems".
- User B changes the edition of "Social Systems " from 1 to 2.
- User A saves.
- User B saves. Citavi sees that the reference "Social Systems" has been changed by User B since it was last opened and discards the changes made by User A (i.e. the ISBN is deleted). The information is saved as it appears on User B's screen.
Conflict management always occurs at the entity level. If User A changes the ISBN for a reference and User B changes a quotation, no conflict occurs since quotations are a different entity than a reference is.
