Working with Keywords
You can apply keywords to all references and knowledge items. You can either formulate keywords yourself (see Applying keyword) or you can import keywords after an online search.
When you apply keywords, you should make sure that they are meaningful. They're only helpful, if they accurately and precisely describe the content of a reference. You may need different types of keywords depending on whether you are applying them to a reference or a knowledge item:
- When applying keywords to references, you'll likely want the keywords to reflect more general characteristics: the subject matter, the time frame, etc.
- Keywords for knowledge items can be more precise. However, they still should be general enough that you don't end up with so many that they are no longer helpful.
In the reference editor, you can view the references in your project by keyword to see which works deal with a particular aspect of your topic. On the View menu, click Show keyword column. To see knowledge items grouped by keyword, switch to the Knowledge Organizer and click the Keywords button or press Alt+4.
