Importing Login Credentials with a Settings File

Many research databases can only be used if your university or company has subscribed to them. Whether or not you are authorized to use a database is either based on your IP range or a login name and password. Some databases use both methods.

Some universities offer settings files for Citavi that contain login credentials for subscription databases. This file is encrypted, and you will only work if you use a license key issued under your organization's site license.

Click Tools and then click Import or export settings.

Click Import and then click Browse.

Choose the settings file and click Open.

Choose which settings you want to import and click Finish. Citavi tells you that the import was successful. Click OK. You can now work with the recommended settings from your university.
