Subscribing to a Search Alert Feed

Unlike a news feed, a search alert feed is generated dynamically after you perform a search in a database or catalog. The process is described below using the example of PubMed:

1. Perform your search in PubMed. Underneath the Search field click the RSS icon.
2. Click Create RSS.
3. Right-click the orange XML button.
4. On the shortcut menu, select Copy Link Location (Firefox) or Copy link address (Chrome) or Copy shortcut (Internet Explorer).
5. On the shortcut menu, select Copy Link Location (Firefox) or Copy link address (Chrome) or Copy shortcut (Internet Explorer).
6. Click in the field Feed URL.
7. Paste the link to the RSS feed from the Clipboard: Ctrl+V.
8. Click Add.
9. Click OK.
