Installing the Add-In for Word

When you install Citavi the Add-In for Word is automatically installed as well, as long as Microsoft Word 2016, 2013, 2010, or 2007 is installed on your computer. The Add-In appears under the Citavi tab in Word.

Installing the Add-In for Word

You can manually install the Word Add-In as long as you have administrator rights on your computer:

  1. Download the latest version of Citavi: www.citavi.com/download
  2. Double-click the file Citavi5Setup.exe to start the installation.
  3. Click Next and select Custom.
  4. Make sure that the following option is selected for the Word Add-In: This feature will be installed on local hard drive.
  5. Finish the installation.

Uninstalling the Add-In for Word

You can uninstall the Word Add-In without first uninstalling Citavi:

  1. Exit Citavi.
  2. In Windows, switch to the Control Panel.
  3. Select Uninstall a Program.
  4. Select Citavi 5.
  5. Click Change. The Citavi installation assistant will start.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select Modify and click Next.
  8. On the Word Add-In drop-down menu select This feature will not be available. Click Next.
  9. Click Install. The installation assistant will remove the Word Add-In.

If you think you might later want to use the Add-In you can temporarily disable the Add-In for Word.
