Creating a New Server Project

In the database you created for Citavi project, create a new project or import projects that previously were saved locally on a user computer.

Creating a New Project

1. Start the Citavi DBServer Manager if you haven't done so already: double-click the file Citavi DBServer Manager.exe in the folder \Citavi 5\bin\.
2. Click Create new project.
3. Enter the project name in the DBServer project name field. Umlauts and special characters cannot be used.
4. Next to Attachments path click Browse to define the path to the folder that Citavi should use for saving attachments to the project such as PDF or image files. We recommend using a UNC path, suche as \\ACME-SQL01\libraries.

Importing a Local Project

1. Start the Citavi DBServer Manager if you haven't done so already: double-click the file Citavi DBServer Manager.exe in the folder \Citavi 5\bin\.
2. Click Import local project.
3. Select the Citavi project you want to import. Projects created with Citavi 2, 3, 4 or 5 can be imported.
4. Enter the name of the project in the DBServer project name field. Umlauts and special characters cannot be used.
5. Next to Attachments path click Browse to define the path to the folder that Citavi should use for saving attachments to the project such as PDF or image files. We recommend using a UNC path, suche as \\ACME-SQL01\libraries.
6. Haga clic en Aceptar.
