Saving a Local Project in the Cloud

  1. Make sure that you have an active internet connection.
  2. Start Citavi.
  3. Log in to your Citavi account if you haven't done so already. On the Welcome Screen click the person icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. Open the desired project.
  5. On the File menu, click Copy to cloud.
  6. Select Create a project copy in the cloud.
  7. Enter a name for the project. Click Next.
  8. Decide what should happen to the original project:
    1. Archive the local project and continue using the Cloud project (recommended for projects that you previously only were working on on your computer): your local project and its attached files in the Citavi Attachments folder will be moved to the local Archive folder which can be found by default under \Documents\Citavi 6\Archive. After the project has moved, its name will no longer appear on the Welcome Screen.
    2. Keep the local project: the local project and its attached files will remain in the same location.
  9. Click Next. Citavi closes the old project, creates a new cloud project, and opens the cloud project.
