Generating Citation Keys

1. On the Tools menu, click Options. On the Citation tab, select the Citation key support checkbox. If you want, you can Customize citation key definitions.
2. Click OK. Citavi asks if you want to generate citation keys for all of the references in your project.

You can later edit an automatically-generated citation key if you want. Place the insertion point in the Citation key field and press F9.
