Text Elements
In the Citation Style Editor you can combine and format components: Author, Year, Title, etc. Sometimes you need to combine components with text. Many components have preview and suffix fields for this information.
In the Editor component, you can enter Group suffixes. Here you can type the text that appears after an editor or multiple editors.
The text element feature is useful in the following situations:
- If you want the word "In" to appear before the editor names, you can enter it as group prefix. However, it often makes more sense to add it as a new Text element. Then, "In" will appear before the title even if the Edited book does not have editors.
- If a text element should appear separate from the appearance of other elements. For example, "ibid." often appears by itself in a footnote. You would create a text element that only contains the word ibid.
