Creating an Activity Log in the Word Add-In

If you experience an error with the Word Add-In and contact the Citavi support team, they may ask you to send an activity log so that they can better pinpoint where and when the error is occurring. Here's how you can create an activity log for the Word Add-In:

  1. Open a Citavi Project.
  2. Open the Word document that is assigned to the open Citavi project.
  3. On the Citavi ribbon, click About.
  4. Enable the Create activity log checkbox.
  5. Click Close.
  6. Repeat the steps that led to the error.
  7. If it might be helpful, create screenshots that illustrate the problem. In Windows 10 you can press Win+PrtScn and the screenshots will be saved in the folder This PC > Pictures > Screenshots.
  8. On the Citavi ribbon, click About.
  9. Clear the Create activity log checkbox.
  10. An online form will open. Enter a description of the error and upload screenshots if they are helpful.
  11. Click Submit.
