Creating a New Chapter Bibliography

To insert a chapter bibliography, you need to define where the chapter starts, i.e. from which point Citavi should pull the references for the chapter bibliography. The Citavi Word Add-In can use either Word headings or bookmarks for the starting point.

Please note:

Some citation styles do not have a bibliography, for example, footnote styles that contain full bibliographic information in the footnotes. If one of these styles is selected in the Word Add-In, you will not be able to use the Insert chapter bibliography feature.

Inserting a chapter bibliography using a heading

  1. Choose this option if you've used headings in your Word document with any of the styles "Heading 1" through "Heading 9".
  2. In the Citavi Word Add-In, select the citation style you want to use.
  3. Insert references into your document.
  4. Right-click the spot where you want the chapter bibliography to appear.
  5. Point to Citavi, and then click Insert chapter bibliography.
  6. In the Use dropdown menu, select Heading.
  7. Select the heading you want to use as the starting point.
  8. Click OK.

Inserting a chapter bibliography using a bookmark
