Managing Server Projects

As the database administrator you can rename, delete or change the attachments path for all projects in the database you created. As project manager you can only perform these tasks for your own projects.

Renaming projects

1.Have all project users close the project.

2.Start Citavi DBServer Manager if you haven't done so already. Double-click the file Citavi DBServer Manager.exe in the folder \Citavi 6\bin\.

3.Select a project.

4.Under Actions > Project, click Change project name.

5.Enter a new name.

6.Click OK.

Please note:

A project is only visible to you if you have the project manager rights for the project or if you have the System administrator or Datenbase owner roles at the database level. Users with these roles automatically have manager rights for all projects.

Deleting Projects

1.Have all project users close the project.

2.Start Citavi DBServer Manager if you haven't done so already. Double-click the file Citavi DBServer Manager.exe in the folder \Citavi 6\bin\.

3.Select a project.

4.Under Actions > Project, click Delete project.

5.Click OK.

Changing the path for attachments

1.Have all project users close the project.

2.Start Citavi DBServer Manager if you haven't done so already. Double-click the file Citavi DBServer Manager.exe in the folder \Citavi 6\bin\.

3.Select a project.

4.Under Actions > Project, click Change attachments path.

5.Click OK.

Updating the Project Schema

You only need this option if you were working with a Preview or Beta version of Citavi projects on the server and the release version has a more recent database schema.

When a user tries to open a Citavi project with an outdated schema, Citavi will display an error message. After you've updated the schema, users can then open and edit the project again.

1.Start Citavi DBServer Manager if you haven't done so already. Double-click the file Citavi DBServer Manager.exe in the folder \Citavi 6\bin\.

2.Select the project.

3.Under Actions > Project, click Update project schema.

4.Click OK.
