Special Case: Patent Searches

You can use the catalog of the European Parent Office to search for patents (including by patent number) and import them into your Citavi project.

1. In Citavi, click Onlinesearch.
2. Click Add database or catalog.
3. Type "European Patent Office" in the Name field.
4. Select the search results, then click Add and Close.
5. Click Advanced search.
6. Select the fields you wish to search (e.g. Patent Number) and enter your search terms (e.g. US2011114143A1).

Google Scholar also offers a patent search, which can only be performed online. You can transfer the results of your Google Scholar search to your project with the Citavi Picker.
