Understanding Background Tasks

Citavi 6 is designed to use the computing time of your computer optimally. If you start a task that will take somewhat longer (for example, saving import results), you can already start the next task (for example, assigning keywords to references). You do not need to wait until the previous task is finished.

You can tell if a background process is in progress if you see two animated green bars at the bottom of Citavi. To check which background tasks are being processed, click the green bars or, on the Window menu, click Show background tasks.

If background tasks are still being processed, you cannot close your project.

Errors can sometimes occur during the processing of background tasks. Citavi attempts to intervene in such cases. You will see a message with at least one suggestion for correcting the problem.
