Citavi for DBServer
Citavi for DBServer is primarily meant for larger organizations with special technical and organizational needs.
Central Location for Projects
When you use Citavi for DBServer, your Citavi projects are saved on an SQL server. The Citavi projects are created by the database owner. The database owner can also grant this permission to another user.
The files linked to the project (PDF files, cover images, etc.) are saved in a folder on a network drive. All Citavi users need to have access to this folder.
This image provides an overview of the connection between a local Citavi installation and the Citavi projects that are saved on the database server.
Users with a license for Citavi for DBServer can also create and edit local projects and cloud projects.
Easy License Management
Citavi for DBServer makes it possible to work with concurrent licenses. This means that you no longer have to worry about which team member is using which license or have to transfer licenses if a Citavi user leaves the organization.
Different Permissions for Each User
The database owner selects the Citavi users for each database. The database owner or project leader can assign roles to each user so that he or she either can edit projects or has read-only access.
