Installing on a Terminal Server
When installing Citavi in a terminal server environment (e.g., Windows Remote Desktop Services or Citrix), please consider the following requirements and recommendations to ensure a smooth deployment:
System Requirements
- .NET Framework: The terminal server must have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later installed. We recommend using the latest supported version for optimal compatibility and security.
- Memory Usage: Citavi typically requires 100–200 MB of RAM per user session. If multiple users will be working in parallel, ensure the server has sufficient memory capacity.
Application Environment
- Citrix Compatibility: Citavi is compatible with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. We recommend testing in your environment to fine-tune performance and user experience.
- Citavi Pickers (Browser Extensions):
- The Pickers allow users to capture references directly from web browsers.
- To function correctly, both the Citavi Pickers and the corresponding web browser must be installed and run in the same user session on the same server.
- Word Add-In:
- The Citavi Word Add-In requires Microsoft Word to be installed.
- Similar to the Pickers, Citavi and Word must run in the same user session and environment on the same terminal server for the add-in to work properly.
