Searching with Comparison Operators
Do you want to find all the references in your project that were published after 2016? Or references that don't yet have location information? You can use comparison operators to create a very precise search in both the Quick search and Advanced search.
Greater Than and Less Than
Use these operators to find references published within a particular time span:
> Greater than
< Less than
>= Greater than or equal
<= Less than or equal
Examples:
What you want to find: |
What to type in the Search criteria box: |
References published before 2016 |
d: < 2016 |
References added to a Citavi project in 2016 |
"created on": = 2016 |
Thoughts and quotations that were added to a Citavi project between November 30, 2015 and March 4, 2016 |
"Created on": >=30.11.2015 AND "Modified on": <=4.3.2016 |
Please note
If you're searching fields that contain a month or day in addition to the year, for example "5-2017" or 5/15/2017, you must enter a complete date in the search field, for example ">01.01.2017"
Empty and Not Empty
To restrict a search to references with a field that is empty (or not empty, i.e. with any content in the field), use the exclamation point or asterisk:
! Is empty
* Is not empty
Examples:
What you want to find: |
What to type in the Search criteria box: |

k: ! |
