Upgrading from Citavi 6 to Citavi 7

You can continue working on projects created with Citavi 6 in Citavi 7. While not recommended, you can use Citavi Cloud Projects and local projects in Citavi 6 format (*.ctv6) with both, Citavi 6 for Windows and Citavi 7 for Windows.

When starting Citavi 7 for the first time after the installation, the content of your "Citavi 6" user data folder will be copied into a corresponding "Citavi 7" folder including your local projects and your customized citation styles. Local projects shown on the Citavi Welcome Screen will point to this folder.
