Installing the Add-In for Word
When you install Citavi the Add-In for Word is automatically installed as well, as long as Microsoft Word 2016 or newer. The Add-In appears as an additional Ribbon "Citavi" in Microsoft Word.
If you were already using Word with Citavi's Word Add-In and then installed a major Microsoft Office update, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the Citavi Word Add-In.
Installing the Add-In for Word
You can manually install the Word Add-In as long as you have administrator rights on your computer:
- Close Citavi.
- In Windows, switch to the Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed Apps.
- Select Citavi 7 > ... > Modify.
- The Citavi Setup Assistant starts.
- Click Next.
- Select Custom and click Next.
- Click on the hard drive icon for Word Add-In and select This feature will be installed on local hard drive.
- Click Next and then Install and wait for the Setup Assistant to complete.
Uninstalling the Add-In for Word
You can uninstall the Word Add-In without first uninstalling Citavi:
- In Windows, switch to the Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed Apps.
- Select Citavi 7 > ... > Modify.
- The Citavi Setup Assistant starts.
- Click Next.
- Select Custom and click Next.
- Click on the hard drive icon for Word Add-In and select This feature will be installed on local hard drive.
- Click Next and then Install and wait for the Setup Assistant to complete.
Please Note
Instead of uninstalling you can also disable the Add-In for Word, if you don't need it temporarily.
