Installing the Add-In for Word

When you install Citavi the Add-In for Word is automatically installed as well, as long as Microsoft Word 2016 or newer. The Add-In appears as an additional Ribbon "Citavi" in Microsoft Word.

If you were already using Word with Citavi's Word Add-In and then installed a major Microsoft Office update, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the Citavi Word Add-In.

Installing the Add-In for Word

You can manually install the Word Add-In as long as you have administrator rights on your computer:

  1. Close Citavi.
  2. In Windows, switch to the Settings.
  3. Select Apps > Installed Apps.
  4. Select Citavi 7 > ... > Modify.
  5. The Citavi Setup Assistant starts.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select Custom and click Next.
  8. Click on the hard drive icon for Word Add-In and select This feature will be installed on local hard drive.
  9. Click Next and then Install and wait for the Setup Assistant to complete.

Uninstalling the Add-In for Word

You can uninstall the Word Add-In without first uninstalling Citavi:

  1. In Windows, switch to the Settings.
  2. Select Apps > Installed Apps.
  3. Select Citavi 7 > ... > Modify.
  4. The Citavi Setup Assistant starts.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select Custom and click Next.
  7. Click on the hard drive icon for Word Add-In and select This feature will be installed on local hard drive.
  8. Click Next and then Install and wait for the Setup Assistant to complete.

 

Please Note

Instead of uninstalling you can also disable the Add-In for Word, if you don't need it temporarily.
