Importing a RIS File

Many providers of bibliographic databases allow search results to be exported in RIS format. RIS files are text files that include entries for one or more references.

Citavi imports and exports reference information in RIS format.

Each field begins with an label consisting of two letters followed by a space, a hyphen, and another space. The field's content follows. A typical entry is formatted as follows:

TY - BOOK

AU - Handke, Jürgen

AU - Franke, Peter

T1 - The virtual linguistics campus

T2 - Strategies and concepts for successful e-learning

PY - 2006

CY - Münster
