By exporting a grouping definition, you can use it in another project:

Exporting a grouping definition

  1. On the Citation menu, click Group bibliography > Create or edit grouping.
  2. Select the desired grouping.
  3. Click Export.
  4. Choose a location for the file, for example the Desktop.
  5. Click Save.

Importing a grouping definition

  1. Open the desired Citavi project.
  2. On the Citation menu, click Group bibliography > Create or edit grouping.
  3. Click Import.
  4. Choose a location for the file, for example the Desktop.
  5. Click Open.

Please note:

If you give your grouping to others, they might experience problems under the following circumstances:
a) You are using a different interface language than the other user(s).
b) If you used a saved search to find all references of a certain reference type, such as Journal article or Contribution. On the other user's computer, when using the grouping definition the search might no longer work, if the reference types are in a different language and are labeled Zeitschriftenaufsatz and Beitrag, for example.
Solution: if you use the Saved searches grouping criteria and want to later share your grouping with another person change the interface language to the language the recipient is using and then save your search.
