Installing the Add-In for Word

When you install Citavi the Add-In for Word is automatically installed as well, as long as Microsoft Word 2016, 2013, or 2010 is installed on your computer. The Add-In appears on the Citavi ribbon in Word.

Please note

If you were already using Word with Citavi's Word Add-In and then installed an Office update, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the Citavi Word Add-In.

Installing the Add-In for Word

You can manually install the Word Add-In at a later time as long as you have administrator rights on your computer:

  1. Close Citavi.
  2. In Windows, switch to the Control Panel.
  3. Select Uninstall a program.
  4. Select Citavi 6.
  5. Click Change. The Citavi Setup Assistant starts.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Word Add-In drop-down menu select This feature will be installed on local hard drive. Click Next.
  8. Click Install. Finish the installation.

Uninstalling the Add-In for Word

You can uninstall the Word Add-In without first uninstalling Citavi:

  1. Close Citavi.
  2. In Windows, switch to the Control Panel.
  3. Select Uninstall a program.
  4. Select Citavi 6.
  5. Click Change. The Citavi Setup Assistant starts.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select Modify, and then click Next.
  8. On the Word Add-In drop-down menu select This feature will not be available. Click Next.
  9. Click Install. The installation assistant will remove the Word Add-In.

If you think you might later want to use the Add-In you can temporarily disable the Add-In for Word.
