Deleting Projects
Deleting a local project
Delete the project
Here's how you can delete a project if you no longer need it.
- In Windows Explorer switch to the folder that contains your project folder. The default location for this folder is C:\Users\[Ihr Name]\Documents\Citavi 6\Projects.
- Select the folder with the name of the project. This folder contains the following:
- A Citavi project, i.e. a Citavi database with the extension .ctv6.
- The subfolder Citavi Attachments, which contains all of the files you attached to your references and the subfolder Covers, which contains the cover images you saved in your project. Please make sure that you have copies of these files before you delete your project if you will need them in the future.
- Deleting the folder with the project name.
Delete the name of the project on the Welcome Screen.
The next time you start Citavi, the project will still appear on the Welcome Screen. This is the same as other Office programs, that remember the path to a file once it was opened.
Click the name of the deleted project. Citavi lets you know that the project could not be found and asks if you would like to remove it from the list. Click Yes.
Delete the project backups in the backup folder
When you delete your project folder, any backups will still be available in the folder \Documents\Citavi 6\Backup\. If you are sure that you won't want to restor a project again in the future, delete these backup copies.
