Creating a Publication with TeX

Citavi helps you create publications with the TeX typesetting system. Use BibTeX to do this: first, write your manuscript in a TeX editor, then place placeholders for citations (BibTeX keys) in the appropriate places, and finally generate the typeset publication from the TeX file (the manuscript) and the BibTeX file (the works cited). The TeX package you use determines the final formatting. The general steps are illustrated in the Getting Started chapter.

Please note:

To use TeX features, you must first enable support for TeX in the Citavi options: click Tools > Options > Citation and then select LaTeX support. Without this option enabled, no lasting BibTeX keys will be created.
